Christmas Eve festivities

Oh what fun we had on Christmas Eve.  We had a day full of family and celebrating.  The kids started out their morning, still in their fuzzy snowman pjs, at their Jaboo's house making cookies for Santa.  That is tradition that they LOVE.

Elliot didn't help make them but sure liked tasting them.

This was the only picture I got of their cute snowman pjs.  (Sorry, Elliot, I didn't have any for you.)

Then after a relaxing afternoon, it was time for the Annual Nix Family Christmas Story Play.  The girls love their role as angels every year.  James had been talking about being a shepherd for a week and was so excited.  And Elliot got to be a cow (with cousin Miles), which we thought was perfect so he could just kind of "graze" around rather than be expected to stand still.

All the angels and Mary (Ava).

The whole cast.

And then all of them lined up to recite their verses they had memorized.  The girls, Annabel especially, worked hard to have her verse memorized.  They had a little stage fright at the end, but finally whispered their lines in the microphone.  And Elliot decided to take one of the wise man's gifts and run off.

And these two Christmas cuties.  I could just eat them up.  Of course Elliot was getting into his grandparents' tree too.

Dinner time.  Can you tell my girls were excited to be seated at the big kid table?

And a few family photos from our time spent together.

Our grandparents.
The ladies
The men ... who were thrilled about this photo.
The boy cousins.
The girl cousins.
And the SIXTEEN grandkids!!

And then we all sing Christmas carols, which the kids love ... especially getting to use the jingle bells!

Our traditional Christmas Eve family picture, which is always funny to look back at.  Love the sign in the background.

We got home just in time to get in our jammies and put cookies and milk out for Santa and carrots for the reindeer.

And to all a good night ...
