Purple car

To say Annabel loves purple is an understatement. The girl loves loves LOVES purple ... anything and everything purple. She has since she was old enough to point out everything that was purple, even before she could really say the word. She loves telling people it is her favorite color and also loves asking people and knowing what everyone else's favorite color is too. She's a color girl.

So every purple cup, bowl or plate in our house, she believes to be hers and hers alone. She has purple sunglasses, purple clothes, purple shoes, purple princess dresses, a purple backpack and so on. When we went to the lake two summers ago, she spotted a purple boat in a boat stall and declared it to be her purple boat! Little did she know it actually does belong to granddaddy. But I did not tell her that at the time because we were not taking the purple boat out that day. But every time we have been to the lake since then or mention going to the lake, she gets so excited and says "we are going to see MY purple boat!"

It should have come as no surprise that when she spotted this car parked at a little house near her school, she decided it was "MY purple car."


That's the best picture I have been able to take while driving by. Every time we drive by and it is there, she says "Yay, no one is driving my purple car!" But if we drive by and it is not there, she is sad and wants to know who is driving her purple car and where they went. She has actually spotted it around town (it is pretty unique!) and thinks is it is so fun to see her purple car driving around. It is quite amusing. And I think I'm going to save this picture to show her when she turns 16. Or maybe we'll just have to find this car then so she can finally drive her purple car.
