We started out the week with haircuts for the girls. And Elliot tagged along and got his first haircut at 6 months old! My girls always crack me up. They find amusement in anything and everything, and it is always entertaining watching them experience new things. This is not their first haircut, but a trip to the salon was like a whole new world. What were all those colorful bottles lined up on the walls? (Shampoo and conditioner.) And what were those round rocket ship things over people's heads? (Hair dryers.) Madeline decided waiting out turn was a good time to put on a show for other hair salon patrons. Always the entertainer!
Then it was our turn.
Madeline loved the hairdryer and her curly 'do.
Annabel enjoyed it too but got a kind of sad look on her face as Mrs. Rachel finished her hair. She asked her if she didn't like it and what was wrong, but Annabel kind of clammed up. Later in the car she said, "But Mrs. Rachel didn't make my hair curly like Madeline's." So funny. I had to explain that God made Madeline's hair curly and her hair "silky" ... I thought that sounded more appealing than just saying "straight." I'm sure there will be a lot of wanting what other sister has throughout the years.
Unfortunately our spring break plans for the zoo got rained out, but we decided to go to the mall to play on the playground and go to Build a Bear instead, followed by a fun lunch at Chick Fil A. They each got to pick out their own new "friend" at Build a Bear. Annabel picked out a "Rainbow Rosie" that looked just like her beloved Rosie but with rainbow colors. Madeline chose a pink (of course) kitty with sparkly fur and named her "Sparkle Kitty." You think they look like happy girls?
And James spotted a monkey and did NOT let go. He loves his "mumkey."
And last but not least, we had SNOW on our spring break! So we dug our snow gear back out and went outside to enjoy it. Elliot's little Go-Pod came in handy!
He liked the snow!
We did a little snowman building ("little snowman" being the key words).
And of course Annabel had to eat the snow ... even though I told her it was muddy snow.
